Spring/Summer Makeup Look With A Pop of Color

Hello Beautiful!

I know super late on this Spring Makeup Look as we are nearing, well, almost in Summers but let's just assume Summer starts for me from June, shall we? Thanks! :D
This look however is perfect for Summer with the over all fresh peachy bronzy look and a pop of Teal on the eyes. So let me put "Summer" right there in the title; okay done. Let's move on to how I achieved this look.

Products Used:

Face:

  • e.l.f Poreless Primer
  • Bourjois - 123 Perfect Foundation - 52
  • Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Peach Glow
  • Sleek - Contour Palette - Light
  • NYX - Powder Blush - Pinched
  • Becca x Jaclyn Hill - Champagne Pop

Eyes:
  • L.A. Girl Pro Concealer - Creamy Beige
  • Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Peach Glow
  • Too Faced - Chocolate Bar
  • e.l.f - Baked Eyeshadow - Toasted
  • OFRA - Blush Strips - Illuminating
  • Masarrat Makeup - Eye Varnish - Azul
  • Morphe Brushes - Individual Eye Shadow - B.A.M
  • NYX - Jumbo Pencil - Milk
  • Maybelline - Colossal Kajal
  • Kryolan - Cake Eyeliner - Black
  • Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara.
Steps:

Eyes:
  1. After priming my eyes (lids and up to the brow bone) with the concealer, I set it with a pressed powder.
  2. For my crease and transition color I blended in Salted Caramel from Chocolate Bar palette and highlighted the brow bone with White Chocolate.
  3. On a smaller blending brush, I took Milk Chocolate from Chocolate Bar and blended it on the outer corners of my eyes and also took it a little in the crease but mostly concentrating on the outer corners.
  4. I darkened the outer corners a little with Semi Sweet from Chocolate Bar and highlighted the brow bone and inner corners with the pearly white strip from the OFRA Blush Strip.
  5. I patted on Toasted on my lids and blended the whole look again to get rid of any harsh lines.
  6. To brighten my waterline, I used NYX Milk and tight-lined the upper lash line with Maybelline Kajal.
  7. On my lower lash line, I packed on Azul with an angled brush and layered B.A.M on top to give it more of a green tinge. I layered Azul back on top to intensify the color and then smoked it out a little with Salted Caramel on a pencil brush.
  8. I decided to do a small wing for the eye look to keep it day time appropriate and fresh looking and finished the eye makeup with two coats of Mascara on my upper and lower lashes.

Face:
  1. I primed my face with the poreless primer and blended in my foundation using Real Techniques sponge.
  2. To set my face, I used my trusted Stay Matte Pressed Powder and lightly dusted it all over my face, with a Kabuki Brush.
  3. I decided to contour my face lightly and used Sleek Palette for that with a fluffy angled brush, for a soft contour.
  4. For Blush I used Pinched by NYX and highlighted my cheek bones with Champagne Pop which for some odd reason didn't show in pictures but otherwise it gave the most amazing glow!
  5. I set the whole face with Skindinavia Oil Free Makeup Finishing Spray to keep all of it locked and fresh looking in this hot and humid weather.

I really like how it turned out, specially how smokey the outer corners of my eyes looked against the highlighted inner corners giving it a beautiful shape. For a more night time appropriate look you can definitely pair it up with a brighter lipstick, a bright pink would compliment the eyes so much and it'll look perfect for Spring. Also, you can switch the white in the waterline to a black to make it look more smokey and sultry.

Let me know what lip color would you wear with a look like this and don't forget to share your looks with me using the hash-tag #gulezehrasblog.

Until next time, Good Luck and Ciao!

Spring Detox & Skin Care Ideas | Guest Post |

Spring has always been the season when you can wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Some people like to enter this season with new clothes, others by cleaning their homes thoroughly, and me, I like to enter it with a clean and glowing skin. And who could blame me? Winter has always been terrible to my skin, and I suppose to you too. I cannot stand when my skin is dry, dull and damaged, so with the first blossoms of spring, I do a full blown skin detox and nourish my skin according to the season. Let me share some of my ideas with you.

Step 1: Eat Your Way to Clean Skin

This step will benefit not only your skin, but also your overall health. I do not know about you, but one more reason winter leaves my skin devastated during the winter is all the fatty and sugary holiday food. So, when spring arrives, I change my diet and drink more water (at least 8 glasses). Some of the best detox foods around are hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, tahini, citrus fruit, cabagge, beets, sesame, pomegranate… I found a lot of food inspirations at Dish For Diet health magazine.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Time to take off your skin’s “winter coat”. Now, it is important to remember that for a proper exfoliation you will need a wholesome scrub, not just for your face and neck, but also for lips, chest, arms, hands, legs and feet. If you feel too lazy for the good old honey+ sugar + oatmeal scrub, then you can buy shelve products or tone down the DIY part with simple baking soda + water recipe. No matter what your choice might be, it is important to rub that scrub in circular movements for several minutes.

Step 3: Steam

Put some distilled water on the stove, pour a couple of drops of essential oil (I prefer lavender but you can choose from a bunch of them), and leave to boil. After pour the water into a glass bowl, grab yourself a towel, place your head above the bowl, put the towel over your head and stay over steam for 7 to 10 minutes. Just rinse, and voila! Your skin is clean of the dead cells remaining after exfoliating and the dirt that was once trapped in your pores is gone.

Step 4: Moisturize

This is a major step that should never miss out on. Especially because one of the main reasons you are exfoliating is to help your skin absorb moisturizer and other skincare products. Now, the choice of moisturizer will depend on your skin type and the body part that is being treated. I have very sensitive skin (to say at the least) but I have discovered that Dermalogica skincare products suit my needs the best.

Face – Find the one (nighttime and daytime) that suits you the best, do not try anything new right after the scrub. Daytime moisturizer should have at least SPF30.

Body – It is enough to use simple body butter or even olive oil to retain the moisture.

Lips – Use balms rich in ingredients such as essential oils, jojoba, lanolin and vitamins.

Feet – Find a medicated feet cream designed to heal cracked heels, a lotion that matches your level of skin dryness or simply moisturize with petroleum oil. After, cover the feet with cotton socks and sleep on it.

Step 5: Establish a Healthy Skincare Routine

All of your efforts will worth nothing if you do not continue to take proper care of your skin. So, here is a little trick, after you establish your skincare routine, write it down, hang it on the bathroom wall, and arrange all of your products accordingly. It should go something like this (depending on your skin type): wash, cleanse, tone (apply a toner) and moisturize. Exfoliate once in two weeks.
Those were my skin detox and care tips: nothing too difficult, nothing too expensive, just a natural way to return your skin to its previous glory and make it smooth and gentle again.

Update Your Spring/Summer'16 Wardrobe With HOBO By HUB!

Hello Beautiful!

HOBO By HUB does it again! Whether it's the dark and bold Winter or the colorful and fun Spring, HOBO brings out the best of every season in terms of fashion and their Spring/Summer Collection is no exception. The entire collection reflects the true spirit of Spring and Summer and the latest trends of this season.

Being an avid follower of New York Fashion Week I could spot a lot of trends included in the Spring/Summer Collection with HOBO's own signature style. Let's see what are the trends (as seen in NYFW) of this season and how you can update your wardrobe according to them from HOBO BY HUB Spring/Summer Collection!

1) Bright & Vibrant Bags:
The runway at NYFW witnessed models sporting Bags of bright and vibrant colors, mostly one solid color which not only gave an oomph to the whole attire but also reflected the bright Spring colors. Marni, Fendi, Proenza Schouler, Prada and Christian Dior all showcased Bags of vibrant colors in the collection.

HOBO, being always on trend has the most beautiful collection of bright and vibrant bags!

2) Slouchy Bags:
The kind of bags that adds an element of comfort and looks laid back. These were showcased by Michael Kors, Celine, Narciso Rodriguez, Stella McCartney and Acne Studios. HOBO has their own style to this trend.

3) Floral Fantasy:
How can one mention Spring and not include flowers? Dolce & Gabbana, Vetements, Alexander McQueen Chanel, Gucci and Prada had their collection loaded with petals and flowers. This piece from HOBO, paired up with any pastel outfit will scream Spring!

4) Fringe Is Here To Stay!:
Good news folks! The top fashion trend of Fall'15/Winter'16 has been carried to Spring/Summer'16! Yes, Fringe was once again displayed in clothing and accessories. Derek Lam, Edun, Boss, Anna Sui and Prabal Gurung all proved that Fringe is here to stay! HOBO, as always, kept up with the trend with their amazing bags!

5) Pointed Toe Footwear:
Not as pointed as were shown by Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, Salvatore Perragamo and Celine but HOBO made them achievable and wearable by these designs here.

6) Flat & Fabulous:
As much as Heels are adored by many, some still adore, wear and prefer Flats, me included. Trademark, Alexander Wang, Victoria Beckham and Edun proved how versatile and trendy Flats can be and HOBO By HUB is no exception! Their Flats collection is drool-worthy!

7) White -Just Right:
White is classy. White is timeless. Maison Margiela, Christian Dior, Balenciaga and Victoria Beckham included White footwear in their collection proving just how versatile this color can be. Here are some of my picks from The Spring/Summer Collection by HOBO.

8) Statement Heels:
It's a wonder what a statement heel can do to the entire look, just the right way to amp up your outfit to make it look edgy and chic. Gucci, Tory Burch, Miu Miu and Dolce & Gabbana had some very edgy and classic statement heels in their collection and HOBO gave it's own wearable twist to this trend and hence becoming one of the most amazing shoe design in their collection!

9) Oxford Flats:
The New York Fashion Week had seen the most amazing and trendy Oxford Flats this Spring/Summer 2016. Louis Vuitton Simone Rocha and Junya Watanabe had their models rock the Oxford Flats. HOBO has one of the best collection of Oxford Flats, right from the Runways to your Shoe Wardrobe!

You do agree now how you can bring the NYFW fashion right in to your life with HOBO By HUB. Their collection has always amazed me offering the best in everything, whether it is the footwear, bags and other accessories. Their quality is one of the best I've come across with full value for money.
